Do I need a backpack?2020-07-30T00:05:59+00:00

Packs are essential.  They give you storage for extra ammo, snacks, water, and clothes that you may remove as the day warms up. Finding the right pack is the tough part, there is a fine line between having a lightweight pack, and not having enough space for all of your gear.  Make sure to test your pack out prior to your trip.

What kind of weather should I expect?2020-07-30T00:05:39+00:00

This is a bit of a tough question.  Snow can occur in any month of the year in Colorado.  We recommend checking the weather prior to your departure.  Use the motto “Better Safe Than Sorry” when packing.   It is a great rule of thumb to dress in layers so that you can remove and add layers when it gets warmer or cooler throughout the day.  Plan for temperatures to be in the 30’s or lower in the mornings and potentially as warm as 70 in the middle of the day.  Make sure to bring a lightweight rain jacket, this is a great extra layer that comes in handy in the mountains.

What kind of boots should I bring?2020-07-29T03:50:02+00:00

We recommend bringing Gore-Tex lined leather boots due to the unpredictability of mountain weather and rugged terrain.
